Kans Grass

Voluptuous Kans grass

Tease the wind with its pompon

Dangling clouds ogle

Pampas grass looks so much like our ‘Kaash-flowers; so I decided to introduce kaash to my international readers.

Kans Grass (Saccharum spontaneum), also known as “Kaash” in Bengal (Land of Tagore), blooms during autumn exclusively in South Asia, especially Bangladesh and India. Blossom of Kaash is the signature of autumn in this part of the world. You don’t need to guess the calendar month, just look around. If you find these fluffy, dreamy flowers around, you can be assured that autumn is here!!
