Numbing Falls

Mica/Rainbow Falls

Flowing Waterfall

On the threshold of twilight

Cut out quite a sight

Victoria Falls

A burst of rainbow

Stare blankly; as crowds pass by

 Smoke roars like thunder

[ Dr David Livingstone “discovered” the falls, the Kololo people living in the area in the 1800’s described it as Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning‘the Smoke that Thunders’ and now it is also known as ‘the greatest curtain of falling water’.]

  1. “Smoke roars like thunder” – never thought of a waterfall like that. But now that I think of it, the phrase makes sense. It looks like smoke and sounds like thunder! 🙂

  2. You have two perfect haiku today with the feel and imagery created by the words, and oh so much nature in it!! Couldn’t stop from re-reading it to enjoy the essence!! Kudos!!
